Refuge Behind the Rock
Refuge Behind the Rock
This artwork captures the iconic house with arches in Batroun, a place where I spent much of my youth swimming by the beach. The boats are docked in the water behind a rock, adding depth to the scene and evoking a sense of calm and protection. This house holds even more meaning for me now, as it is currently owned by my lifelong friend, the internationally renowned photographer Fares Jammal. The blending of textures and muted colors reflects the passage of time, with vibrant blues symbolizing the vivid memories I still hold. It’s a tribute to Batroun’s beauty, my personal connection to this peaceful place, and a nod to friendships that stand the test of time.
This piece is a single edition, 48 x 36 inches, printed on a stretched canvas that is custom-made on Premium Fine Art Matte Canvas (410g/m²), 1.5-inch thick wood, giving it a real gallery look. The Giclée printing with pigment ink is designed to meet gallery and museum longevity standards, ensuring consistency in shades for up to 200 years.
