Migration towards Peace
Migration towards Peace
For my mixed media artwork Migration towards Peace, I chose the Batroun dam as the backdrop to represent the tensions and conflicts tearing apart Lebanon, reflecting the darker side of the reality I know. These disputes, like those surrounding the dam, divide the population and push many Lebanese, including myself, to seek a more peaceful life elsewhere. To contrast this, I integrated a contemplative statue from Montreal, symbolizing the serenity and peace immigrants like me are searching for. This juxtaposition highlights the coexistence of homeland conflicts and the yearning for a peaceful haven.
